About the challenge
Challenge Format:
60 consecutive days x (swim 3.8 km + bike 180 km + run 42.2 km)
Date and Place:
October 5 – December 3, 2021 | Canary Islands (Fuerteventura)
About the Course:
The daily route was consistent, allowing for reliable data comparison across various metrics (heart rate, speed, ascent, and times spent in each activity).
Swimming: 76 laps of 50 meters in a pool. Start times were initially at 7:30 AM, changing to 7:20 AM after day 26 (winter time). The final day (60th) began at 7:00 AM.
Cycling: A single 180 km loop on the mountainous Fuerteventura, battling significant wind. Garmin recorded an ascent of 1,779 meters daily, totaling 106,740 meters over 60 days. A collision with a car on day 14 required a bike replacement. Despite injuries, I continued the challenge.
Running: A marathon starting at noon under peak heat. The course was a 4.39 km lap repeated 9.6 times, with a daily ascent of 292 meters per 42.2 km.
Result: I completed 60 full triathlons in 657:40:09, setting the fastest known time for this challenge.
